Private Web Communities’ WJUV Radio Makes Waves on Internet2

(PRWEB) February 28, 2005 -- Private Web Communities announced today that its WJUV Radio is now accessible via Internet2, making it the Next Generation Internets first radio station. Up until early this year, the general public did not have total access to Internet2s porn-free, spam-free, alternate cyber space. So, for WJUV, timing could not be better.

WJUV launched in October 2004, a year that Internet radio experienced a tremendous growth surge. According to a study published in December by Borrell Associates, Internet listener-ship increased by 40 percent. Today, the report says, about 20 million people regularly tune in to Web radio stations.

WJUV reports more than 1,300 streams since it went live. It expects to attract many more listeners as its offerings circulate through advertising and word-of-mouth and as more Americans start logging on to Internet2.

WJUVs music menu is a mix of disco, techno and trance. One of its spotlight artists is Angel City, which had three Top 20 hits in the United Kingdom in 2004. Lead vocalist Lara McAllen is considered one of the UKs hottest female singers. Do You Know, released last fall, sat on the UKs Top 10 for two weeks; and Sunrise, released this month, promises to be a chart-topper too.

Everyone is looking for something fresh, says Bud Welker, WJUVs station manager. WJUV is going to be the radio of the future.

WJUV provides a range of packages to advertisers that want to reach its rapidly expanding listener base. It offers banner advertising two sizes and three high-exposure positions. Twenty-second spot commercials are also available. Depending on the package, they run six to 12 times per day for 30 days.

Using the Live365 streaming service, WJUV delivers top-quality radio. It pays monthly United States royalty and licensing fees to SoundExchange, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC.

WJUV Radio can be accessed on Internet2 with the URL www.radio.internet2 or on the Internet with the URL www.wjuv.com.

Little Time Radio, Big Time Opportunities
Every business owner interested in Publicity wants to do the big syndicated radio shows. Many overlook the smaller opportunities available in non-syndicated radio shows. I'm discussing those viable radio shows in most cities that cater to their own demographics. What do these shows have to offer the businessman in terms of exposure?
