European Radio Recognizes DRZHIVEGAS as the New Direction of Rock & Roll
St. Louis, MO (Billboard Publicity Wire) December 2, 2006 -- Big-FM, the #1 CHR radio station in Europe / Germany, selects St. Louis based DRZHIVEGAS to be the featured guest on their weekly broadcast "The LA Music Pipeline" airing Sunday Dec. 3.
DRZHIVEGAS has been the most sought-out and in demand dance band in the mid-west for more than a decade. Performing over 200 nonstop, high energy shows a year taking their party of dance rock all across the United States. Their debut release "Get Down" has quickly spawned the first single, "Gimme Whatcha Got." Now, with the help of Big-FM Radio, the rest of the world will be introduced to St Louis' best kept secret.
The core of this group led by frontman Frankie Muriel (vocals), Paul Chickey (drums), Cub Smith (bass) and Dee Dee 'Muggs' James (guitar), fill out their many layers of sound on tour by transforming into a 10-piece band adding keyboards, horns, and background singers. Known to their fans as DRZ, these ambassadors of their own brand of dance rock, have combined the sounds of the great R&B music of the past with the feel of early Aerosmith / Van Halen rock & roll to create what some are referring to as the "New Direction of Rock & Roll."
"Get Down" takes us, as an audience, back to the times of turning on the radio and feeling energized and motivated, with the sudden urge to own a convertible so you can drive with the top down and let the rest of the world feel as good as you. It's what rock & roll was meant to be.
"I like the kind of music that makes people feel alive, sexy, and unable to sit still," says frontman Frankie Muriel. "that's where the energy is born."
Big-Fm selected "Gimme Whatcha Got" after getting a shot of the energy audiences across the United States have been experiencing live, further endorsing the DRZ breaking story, From the floor shaking beats to the big guitars and the sexy in your face vocal that cuts through that wall of sound, "Gimme Whatcha Got" is this year's call to party.
