NAEYC Radio Connects 100,000 Members to Experts, Insights and "Next" Practices
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 6, 2008 -- Today, the BAM Radio Network (BRN), a joint project of Moving & Learning and Jackstreet Media, announced that the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has launched NAEYC Radio. The new media resource will give NAEYC's 100,000 members, including early childhood professionals, advocates and parents nationwide, access to the latest insights in early childhood development. The channel will feature a special edition of BRN's premier program, Body, Mind and Child (www.bodymindandchild.com), co-hosted by NAEYC executive director Mark Ginsberg, Ph.D, and Rae Pica, an early childhood expert with 30 years of experience in the field. The program will be Nanocasted on the NAEYC web site at www.naeyc.org, distributed to members through the organization's newsletter and made available for download via podcast.
"The National Association for the Education of Young Children is the world's largest organization working to help educators and parents access the best and most current insights on early childhood development," said Rae Pica. "We are delighted to collaborate with Mark Ginsberg and NAEYC to help the organization's members stay connected and up-to-date."
As co-host of the special edition of Body, Mind and Child, Dr. Mark Ginsberg will bring an expanded and valuable new perspective to the program. Prior to assuming his post at NAEYC, Dr. Ginsberg served as the Chair of the Department of Counseling and Human Services in the Graduate Division of Education at The Johns Hopkins University. He also is a member of the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Medicine of The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Previous to his work at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Ginsberg was the Executive Director of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy in Washington, DC. In addition, he completed an APA-Approved Internship in Clinical Psychology while a Fellow at the Yale University School of Medicine.
"We are excited to collaborate with Moving & Learning on this internet radio series as we believe it will provide enjoyment and guidance for early childhood professionals, advocates and parents nationwide," said Ginsberg. "NAEYC Radio will also allow listeners to sample some what they will be able to experience at the Dallas Annual Conference and Expo in November of 2008 from the comfort of their computer. This is a great opportunity for everyone."

About BAM Radio Network
The BAM Radio Network was launched to address the severe imbalance in parenting practices caused by the "commercialization of parenting" and the emphasis on intellectual development that excludes the critical role of the mind/body connection in early childhood. Created by leading early childhood experts, the programming challenges the popular genre of parenting notions that has given rise to commercial products like Baby Einstein, Brainy Baby and lapware, all of which claim to accelerate a child's mental development in the face of science that suggests otherwise. The network is a joint venture between New Hampshire-based Moving & Learning and Los Angeles-based Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. The program is produced by Emmy-winning broadcaster Errol Smith and distributed through the Affiliate Nanocasting Network.
