Two-way Radios: Are They Really That Important?

Since two-way radio can transmit and receive calls, they are quite helpful. They can be used in many different situations and can even be considered an emergency device that could help a life to be saved. They are relatively inexpensive and can easily be used while driving.

There are headsets that will work with two-way radios. Ear-bud-style earphones fit most two-way radios so you can talk hands-free while driving. Some two-way radios come equipped with VOX voice-activated control.

Suppose you and your family are going camping in a relatively wilderness area. Even if everyone in your whole family has a cell phone, you will still want to invest in two-way radios. Most cell phones cannot be used in areas that are wilderness country.

If one of your children were to get lost, you would have to drive some distance just to find a pay phone to call the authorities to come to help find your child. Many children have died while they were lost in such an environment.

When your family goes camping prepared with two-way radios on hand, you can rest easy. If your child gets lost, one quick call on the two-way radio will enable you to be reunited and your child to be safely in your arms again.

If you and your best friends are planning to go hunting out in the woods a great distance from your homes, why not suggest that this time each of you carries a two-way radio? Nothing could be worse than one of your friends getting injured without a quick way to call home and request an ambulance! There are some two-way radios that can communicate for a very short distance, perhaps a mile or two. Others have a calling distance of well over 20 miles. There are some two-way radios that are even water-resistant which is a definite advantage if someone in your party should fall into deep water and needs a quick rescue.

Some two-way radios even have different call-tones so that when you receive that call, you will know who is in trouble. Hopefully, you now have no doubt as to how important it is to have two-way radios for whatever trip you may be taking whether just a short trip to the mall or on a long-distance hunting or camping adventure!
