Co-founder of Family Life Radio Network Goes Home to the Lord After Struggle with Alzheimer's

Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) November 30, 2007 -- Charlotte Anne Bolthouse (Char), 1926-2007, went home to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving Day at 4:20 p.m. after struggling with Alzheimer's for many years.

"Char's gentle spirit helped to set the tone for Family Life Radio's mission to reach people for Christ. She will be greatly missed," said Dr. Randy Carlson, president of Family Life Communications Incorporated, Family Life Radio's parent company.

Char Bolthouse helped to inspire a broadcast ministry during her lifetime, and now that her work is complete, she has joined our Lord in heaven. It is with mixed emotions of sadness and joy that we say farewell to Family Life Radio's co-founder -- an energetic wife, friend and faithful servant of Jesus.

Char was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Walter and Florence Larson. She attended Grand Rapids High School, and from age 7 was a soloist with the national radio program -- Children's Bible Hour -- where she met her husband, Warren Bolthouse. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this past August 1.

Char and Warren served the Lord in churches in Pontiac and Detroit, Michigan, Buffalo, New York, and Jackson, Michigan. They founded Family Life Radio in 1966, which after 41 years has grown to 37 radio stations and translators in 8 states and is headquartered in Tucson, Arizona. Char served on the Board for 25 years and for many years hosted a radio program, "Sharing with Char."

Char is survived by her husband Warren, their five children: Jan, Donna, Cheryl, Jim and David, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her brother, Stanley Larson of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Bolthouses have resided in Oro Valley, Arizona since 1980.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Char Bolthouse Memorial Fund at myflr.org.
