BreakThru Radio To Air Roadside Assistance: Spring Break Mix

NEW YORK, NY (PRWeb) March 1, 2007 -- BreakThru Radio (BTR), the Internet's voice of the World's Best Independent Music, announced today it will air a Spring Break Edition of its successful specialty show "Roadside Assistance".

"All of us BTR DJs are serious music aficionados, and we've never felt that the music we like was represented properly during Spring Break," says DJ Latola. "So we put together this underground alternative. The playlist exemplifies that freewheeling, carefree mood that characterizes Spring Break, but without all the trite dance music."

Hosted in collaboration by all of the BTR DJs, the playlist consists of a series of three song sets from each of the station's daily DJs and features music from Tilly and the Wall, Manu DiBango, Malajube, Of Montreal, Glue, Officer Flossie and Eliot Lipp, amongst others. This uncharacteristically original mix provides students with good music to drive along to as they head out to their Spring Break destinations.

"We felt that BTR listeners would demand the same kind of content for their spring break mix that they do on an everyday basis: independent, quality music that isn't being heard on commercial radio," said BTR Music Director Annie Russell. "Even if our listeners are hitting a traditional Spring Break party spot, there is no reason that they should have to abandon their taste for the independent in favor of a commercial top-40 mix."

"Roadside Assistance: Spring Break Mix" premieres on BTR today and will air all month. Listeners can download the show to their computer or mp3 player by visiting www.breakthruradio.com.
